Gundry/Glass Hospital

The hospital, originally known as “Athol,” was built in 1880 and was designed by Baltimore architect, T. Buckler Ghequier[1] The facility is located on a 28-acre property in West Baltimore. Dr. Alfred T. Gundry established the Gundry Sanitarium on his family farm in the late 1800s, and the facility operated until the 1990s.[2] During the redevelopment of Uplands, Baltimore Heritage secured a commitment from Baltimore Housing to avoid demolition of the property. Today the building sits abandoned and is falling into further disrepair every day.
